Adapters for 3-inch Core Thermal Label Spools
thingiverse
When printing thermal labels recently, I ran into an issue where my label printer expected 1/2" cores (meaning it has a peg on either side slightly smaller than that, which the female core will slip onto), but my label spool had a 3" core. Looking online, the inner diameter (core size) of most of these spools are 0.5", 0.75", 1", or 3".* In my case I needed only the 1/2" one, but I made all three to post here. Since you can print on the flat side, you don't need any supports. I carved out the honeycomb pattern and the notches on the side walls to save on filament. In my case they're each just under 10g and took just under an hour (thanks to the honeycomb) at 0.3mm. I've found this spool stand from snortimer is handy, and a 0.55" (14.2mm) adapter works well w/ its center hub, so I've included that variant as well: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5447866 (I'm not sure if spools elsewhere have different sizes or are the same ones, simply denoted in metric, but the equivalent sizes are: 12.7mm, 19.05mm, 25.4mm, and 76.2mm.)
