Adapters between one mask and filter of another mask
thingiverse
I was browsing for masks to print and found several designs that caught my eye. One design from Lafactoria3D stood out because it didn't cover the entire nose area, which was important to me since I wear glasses. I decided to print the mask entirely in TPU to make it airtight and impact-proof, as I don't want to hurt my face after wearing it for several hours. I printed the Lafactoria3D design with the N95 screw option and tried it with a vacuum cleaner HEPA filter. However, the air flow was really low, making it difficult to breathe. This led me to explore other options, which is when I stumbled upon MrDWGraf's mask design. The unique feature of this design is that it increases air flow without significantly increasing the size. My next challenge was to connect both designs seamlessly. I decided to remix them into a single adaptor that wouldn't require support during printing. I created two versions - one with a bulging shape and another with a flatter profile. Pictures show the fully assembled masks, demonstrating how well they work together. I tested both versions of the adaptor, and the results were impressive. The air flow is significantly improved, making it easy to breathe while wearing any of these masks. I've also found that the full mask isn't heavy to wear, even when printed in TPU. If you're interested in creating a similar design, feel free to use or remix this adaptor as a starting point.
