Adapter Topeak MTX-Rack to Hodgson Bike Light
thingiverse
I really like the Hedgson bike backlight, it's super bright and robust, plus it charges via USB. However, I'm not a fan of how the seat post holder is attached with a rubber band - it just doesn't feel secure enough to me. What bothers me even more is that you have to reverse the lighting tube, turn it around, and then snap it into place in this complicated mechanism. I needed a backlight for my MTX rack, so I decided to design an adapter to mount the Hedgson light on it. But honestly, a better snapping system would make handling much easier. Make sure to check out the fixing screw, which is not centered on the plate - they actually welded the nut slightly off-center in my rack, which was frustrating. You might need to adjust the hole slightly to fit your rack. To attach both parts together, you'll need a short M5 screw with a cylindrical head. Fortunately, I already modeled a suitable thread into the ring. To make it easier to print, I decided to model two separate parts instead of just one. I designed this using Fusion360 and Cura software.
