Adapter Gardena watertap Roto rain barrel

I bought a Roto rain barrel six months ago, and it's been serving its purpose well despite being made of plastic. The product looks authentic and has good quality. However, I encountered an issue with the supplied water tap. It was too close to the barrel, making it difficult to fill my watering cans smoothly. Moreover, the non-standard thread on the barrel (approximately 26.44 mm) prevented me from finding a suitable water tap at any DIY store that could fit the Gardena connection system. I decided to design an adapter that would allow me to attach a standard 1/2 inch threaded metal water tap to my Roto rain barrel. This adapter would then enable me to connect a Gardena hose connector to the tap. After several designs, I settled on a two-piece adapter made from ASA material, which is resistant to UV rays and can withstand outdoor conditions year-round. The parts are designed to be printed separately, allowing for better rigidity when glued together. To ensure a watertight seal, I used rubber washers on both the tap and barrel sides of the adapter. Two washers were placed on the barrel side to achieve proper vertical alignment of the tap. So far, this setup has worked well without any leaks or issues after six months of use. I hope this solution helps others who face similar problems with their Roto rain barrels. If you have any questions about this project, feel free to ask, and I'll be happy to help.
