I'm not sure what you're getting at with this setup, but I'd say the motor from the original is a bit weak and using batteries these days seems a bit outdated when you have modern lithium-ion cells in your drill. Upgrading to 18650 cells would be nice, but it looks like that might be a bit of an overhaul.
