Adapter for Watch to EDC Tool Wristband
thingiverse
Human: Made an adapter to attach EDC Tool Wristbands to an 18mm Nato Wrist Strap, allowing a watch to be strapped on. The adapter has holes for screws to fit into, eliminating the need for tapping. Check out the images with line drawings to see how I attached my Wrist Strap and how it should be done. Forgot that accessing the rear plate for battery swaps would be necessary, so I advise checking the last image to know how to attach the strap properly. Fortunately, a Nato Wrist Strap made of Nylon enabled me to use an adjustable soldering iron to weld the ends together without stitching. Just make sure to clean your soldering tip afterwards! 250-260C seemed to be the optimal temperature for my strap. I used metal rings from my wrist strap to tighten the strap between the watch and the adapter; they also serve as an aesthetic barrier between tool and watch. The original Tool Bracelet is from Leatherman: https://www.leatherman.com/tread-425.html?dwvar_425_color=10&cgid=everydaycarry But cheap knock-offs can be found on banggood and other Chinese sellers: https://www.banggood.com/29-In-1-EDC-Wearable-Wristband-Screwdriver-Gadgets-Stainless-Steel-Emergency-Tools-p-1184221.html?rmmds=myorder&cur_warehouse=CN This adapter can be combined with any watch that uses an 18mm strap. The strap itself can be found for little money on ebay, amazon and many other online shops. While gathering links, I found out that Leatherman now sells their own watch with a tool band, but it's way out of my budget: https://www.leatherman.com/tread-tempo-512.html?dwvar_512_color=10&cgid=everydaycarry
