Adapter for Tygon Tubing

Adapter for Tygon Tubing

thingiverse

One of my coworkers attempted to pry tubing off a delicate glass Y-adapter. Unfortunately, it shattered into pieces, severely slicing open his thumb and rendering it useless. These adapters are specifically designed for use with Tygon tubing that has an internal diameter of 1/4 inch. To ensure their durability, I applied multiple layers of acrylic paint and then sealed them with a strong dose of superglue - an excessive measure, perhaps, but one that has paid off so far as they remain gas tight. It's essential to note that these adapters are not meant for containing liquids. If you're using PLA to print them, be aware that it will dissolve in organic solvents and eventually break down in water. However, on the flip side, printing your own adapters is a cost-effective solution, as they can be produced practically for free. In contrast, Chemglass charges a hefty $20 for their glass versions.
