Adapter for syringe - drinkers
thingiverse
I was thrilled with the formicarium concept from artGuard and I printed out several modules for my harvesters myself. The method of humidifying the living module seemed satisfactory to me, but could ants really drink water from the irrigation system? I wasn't sure. So I decided to develop a watering can that could be connected to the formicarium. I decided to make the watering can itself out of a 6-cubic-cc syringe. The syringe was purchased with a rubber piston nozzle, which served as the final plug (I simply cut off the nozzle tip with a knife). In terms of a water-conducting plug, I thought of using a super-sponge (from a mop). To connect the watering can to the module wall, I decided to use an outlet tube with a lateral expansion in the form of a plastic ring - this needs to be removed by any available mechanical means. The developed adapter model tightly fits onto this outlet tube without expansion. The syringe itself is tightly screwed into the adapter using two 3mm-diameter and 9mm-long screws.
