Adapter for stereo microscope to a long reach monitor mount
thingiverse
Here's a 3D printed adapter that connects a stereo microscope to a monitor mount arm. Watch the video at https://youtu.be/9t21ym5_A2I to see how it works. This adapter enables long-distance movement of the microscope, up to 70CM, above the table while keeping the cost low at just $80, unlike other options that can cost upwards of $350 or more. There are two types of adapters available: one for side sliding and another for upper sliding. The upper sliding option is preferred by many users. My microscope weighs approximately 3KG, which is well within the 8KG weight capacity of this arm. The adapter connects to the 20mm shaft that comes with the microscope. I printed the adapter using ABS material with a 50% infill ratio. While it feels sturdy and good quality, I'll have to wait until I've used it for a while to confirm its durability. Feel free to leave comments below! The arm I used is the SIH model Mo1, which can be found at http://www.sih.co.il/en/solutions/wallmounts/monitors/mo1. Thanks!
