I have created a new, or more precisely - optimized version of the 3M 6800 fullface mask adapter for filters with a diameter of 22mm. 1. The adapter does not protrude above the seal on the hood, because it makes no sense to do so. 2. I lengthened the adapter chimney by 2mm from the design I found online - this was a good idea because it allows us to slide the filter almost the entire length of the inlet tube. 3. I increased its durability and added elements to make assembly and disassembly easier, making handling with gloves much simpler. 4. The adapter has been tested on the mask by a medic, giving me the opportunity to see both the mask and the filter up close and think about how and why it was designed this way. 5. One adapter weighs around 8.9g (about 2.9m of filament with a diameter of 1.75mm). 6. Printing the adapter without supports is ideal, as the wall bevels are perfectly suited for printing without supports - it will be faster and more economical, yet still stable and safe to use. 7. I recommend printing with PETG, using 100% infill (although this doesn't make a huge difference in terms of printing time or filament usage, it does increase the tightness of the printed element - remember that we're making this for people fighting for their lives, so let's prioritize safety). 8. Key parameters to focus on include extrusion ratio, first layer extrusion ratio, and overlap perimeter - calibration is crucial. 9. Prioritize accuracy over speed when printing.
