Adapter, Bontrager Blendr saddle to Topeak bag

Some Bontrager saddles feature 2 M5 tapped holes, which is nice for mounting all sorts of things. Here is Bontrager Blendr Saddle Accessory Mount which uses these hardpoints. I have a Topeak saddle bag which I wanted to mount. Because I use a non-offset seatpost & my saddle is largely slid forward, it typically wouldn't mount anyways because the front of the bag would interfere with the back of the seatpost. However, I can solve both problems at once: the bag mount is offset to the rear by almost 40-50 mm from the stock mount (this offset turned out to be perfect on the first try) the 2-bolt pattern allows me to circumvent the original Topeak adapter entirely Note that this print is effectively supporting the weight of the bag & all its contents, so it should be printed for more strength. As a bonus, I sandwiched a piece of plastic salvaged from a push lawnmower clippings bag as a fender. I used a zip tie to force a curve in the plastic in order to stiffen it against drooping into my rear wheel. I simply drilled M5 clearance holes in the plastic. It's a better solution than the Ass Savers you can buy. First revision Note also that I needed to sand the slanted face of the mount down to get the clip to engage. I think the slot also needs to be a bit larger. It's tight now, but with repeated use I trust it will get looser. Until then, the tightness improves security of the bag mount. Second revision improvements I've loosened the slots a bit in my fifth revision (second Solidworks revision), also posted. This version is untested. Category: Other
