In the first attempt to print with flexible filament, the bad omens came true: it got tangled in the space between the geared wheel and the entrance hole to the hot-end. The solutions I found online didn't quite fit my Prusa i3 architecture, so taking the idea of guiding the filament through that space between the gearwheel and the entrance hole of the hot-end, I designed a piece to be added (glued) to the metal piece holding the motor, the hot end, and the X-axis support rod. Another option would have been to design the entire piece (if someone prefers it, I've also attached that variant). But I preferred this one because the metal pieces help dissipate heat and prevent the plastic part from becoming soft. To ensure a better connection, I extended the piece towards the area where the spring of the lever holding the filament is located, so the screw coming from below can pass through it as well, joining the metal piece to the U-shaped (also metallic) support. I also made a recess for the spring in this design. In my case, I had some washers to separate the gearwheel from the motor axle exit so that it would match the filament position. With this new design, I no longer need them because I've added a stop in the back part. On April 30, 2018, I added a variant allowing for a piece of Teflon tubing with a beveled end to be inserted into the filament hole for better fit and less friction on the filament.
