Adam and Eve: Adam
myminifactory
The statues of our forefathers were a key component of Bandinelli's ambitious sculptural project for the choir stalls of Florence Cathedral, which was initiated in 1542. By 1551, the figures had been completed and separated from the Tree of Wisdom, crafted from wood and stucco, only to be destroyed by the devastating flood of 1966, alongside the original base. In 1722, the group was relocated from the choir stalls due to the perceived obscenity of the nudity depicted on the figures. Initially moved to the Uffizi, they were later transferred to the Bargello. This object is part of "Scan The World", a groundbreaking non-profit initiative spearheaded by MyMiniFactory, aiming to create a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for public access.
