Adafruit Ultimate GPS Breakout Soldering Jig
thingiverse
I'm drawn to designs that simplify the process of installing well-aligned headers on modules, like the Adafruit Ultimate GPS breakout. To get started, simply cut a 1x9 2.54mm/0.1" pin header and place its long pins into the fixture's channel. Next, position the module on top of the header and solder it in place for a seamless installation. A huge thanks to Adafruit for their mechanical model used in the image above - it was instrumental in my design process! However, I'm not familiar with Eagle CAD software, so I only brought in the components necessary for my project, leaving out the rest of the PCB components. This is evident from the red rectangles scattered throughout the design. What this means is that Adafruit did an excellent job on their mechanical design, and I simply adapted it to suit my needs by omitting unnecessary elements.
