I acquired an ESP8266 Huzzah Feather and a 3.5" LCD Featherwing from Adafruit, and desired a table top enclosure to hold them securely in place. To achieve this goal, I designed the case precisely, ensuring that the displayable area of the LCD is perfectly centered within the bezel. Additionally, the top and bottom sections are mirror-image symmetrical, allowing me to use the case with the cord on either side and adjust the screen rotation via software. This print presented a challenge, as I printed it with the back facing downwards and the bezel oriented upwards, necessitating a 0.1mm layer height to capture the gentle slope of the bezel and create usable screw threads in the eight holes. Due to the 0.1mm layer height requirement, I had to introduce an extra layer gap between the top of the support material and the bottom of the model to facilitate easy removal of the supports without any residue. Despite these complexities, I am extremely pleased with the outcome.
