Adafruit Feather Rover chasis and top

thingiverse

This is my DIY take on a chassis and top plate, inspired by the aluminum chassis and top plate from Adafruit's rover used in their Feather Rover and RPi Rover projects. I bought all the parts except for these two components to challenge myself into creating something entirely original. Although they bear a resemblance to Adafruit's designs in spirit, every single measurement was taken from my own calculations. This project is still a work in progress, as the 4xAA battery pack didn't fit precisely on top (it's not an official Adafruit pack), so I temporarily secured it with tie-wraps until I can refine the design. Otherwise, everything aligned perfectly according to Adafruit's instructions for the Feather build (motor board and feather on the doubler), and it has been a blast. When completed and functioning as intended, this project promises to be a fun little endeavor. For spacers, I used M3 40mm parts from a customized version of thing 710249 on Thingiverse.
