Adafruit 0.56" 4-Digit 7-Segment Display w/I2C Backpack

A collection of LEDs is more enjoyable than a single one. Create small displays with an 8x8 matrix or a 4-digit 7-segment display. These matrices are multiplexed, so controlling seven-segment LEDs needs 14 pins. Driver chips like MAX7219 can control matrices but require lots of wiring and space. Adafruit offers LED matrix backpacks in two types - a mini 8x8 and a 0.56" 4-digit 7-segment - that work perfectly with Adafruit's stocked matrices, simplifying display addition. The matrices use driver chips for easy multiplexing, constant-current drivers for consistent color, I2C interface, and address-selection jumpers to connect up to four mini 8x8 or eight 7-segments on a single I2C bus.
