Andonstar 407 Microscope PCB Holder. I purchased the new Andonstar 407 microscope for professional purposes related to PCB design, soldering, and inspection. I designed a PCB holder that worked well initially, but it had some limitations. You can download my previous design at: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4128609 The original holder could rotate, but it was difficult to move the PCB up-down or left-right. To address this issue, I designed a new version with improved functionality. This new holder allows for movement in any direction and rotation while keeping the PCB firmly attached without requiring manual assistance. Unfortunately, the microscope's base is not magnetic, so I used a magnet to attach the holder to a metallic surface over the base. You will need: - 2 M3 nuts - 1 low-profile magnet from an old hard drive or a neodymium magnet - 1 rubber band - A 120mm x 120mm or larger flat piece of metal - Glue To build the holder, follow these steps: 1. Cut the metallic surface to fit or exceed the base of the microscope. 2. Drill two M3 holes 46 mm apart on this surface and secure it using screws provided with the microscope. You can trim the screws slightly or use two M3 nuts on top of the surface (see pictures). 3. 3D print the pieces, including two guides. Guide 2 is identical to guide 1 but has an M3 screw hole for added stability. 4. Glue the magnet to the base (I used two magnets actually). 5. Attach the Ring piece to the Upper piece using exterior glue only, as the Base piece fits inside. 6. Place the Guides on the Upper piece and secure them with one M3 20 mm screw. 7. Wrap a rubber band around the guides. 8. Position the PCB between the guides. Now you can rotate and move the holder easily with one hand while it remains firmly attached to the base. If you position the holder adjacent to the two screws, you'll be able to rotate the upper part of the holder around SMD components when soldering, making this operation easier.
