I designed a new weather vane mount after my old one broke during a storm this year. The new design has withstood several large storms without any issues, even handling intense heat from the west-facing roof. Made of white PETG, I printed the part with supports to ensure the holes were perfectly round. To replicate the original pipe's position, I used a 1-inch ID PVC tube over the old one, raising the vane higher off the roof. A sheet rock screw keeps it securely in place and prevents spinning or flying away. This new mount is significantly better than its predecessor, allowing for a longer pipe and a straighter, more stable installation that doesn't flex under stress.
