Acura Shift Knob

Acura Shift Knob

thingiverse

I replace the shift knob on my 2004 Acura RL, as the old one's faux wood grain was wearing off and driving me crazy. So, I decide to make a new one myself. The hole is threaded for 10mm x 1.5mm threads, which is apparently the standard size for Honda/Acura vehicles, so I hope this helps anyone who comes across this post. With my printer's settings, it prints perfectly without supports necessary, and threads right onto the car's shifter beautifully. Not done painting, by the way! Edit: I suggest using a jam nut arrangement, as I learned the hard way. I wanted the knob on tight so I gave it another twist, but forgot just how much force threads really impart. As a result, the knob splits and the top comes off. My thought is to use a nut underneath the knob to push 'up' on the knob and keep it tight in position.
