This is a project inspired by all those steampunk iris diaphragm goggles you can find on the web.UPDATEHad a pair 3D printed and they work really well. Surprisingly so. I used perforated metal foil instead of iris diaphragms though...______________________________________________________I'm interested in the tremendous improvement in visual acuity that can be achieved with these things. I'm nearsighted with pretty poor distance vision. However, with an aperture of about 1mm, I can see/read things as though I was wearing my glasses or contacts. It's amazing!This eyepiece is designed to accept a standard optical iris diaphragm (28mm OD, 18mm ID with a min aperture of 0.8mm). It just clips in, no screws required. It also uses standard nose pieces and straps you'd find on swimming goggles - or you can print/make your own...
