I required an uncomplicated yet efficient filter for fumes and particles generated during 3D printing. A straightforward solution entails a simple frame that attaches directly to the printer, upon which a 120mm fan is mounted. The filter itself is cut to size from activated carbon (approximately 13-15mm thick). The lid, holding the filter in place, is secured by friction between the frame and lid. It should fit snugly but if it's too loose, a small amount of tape can be applied for added stability. I opt for felt tape. A more compact variant without a frame was also created: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2752346 Revision 180115: Following several prototypes, the design has been refined. The rubber seal is no longer required. A slight chamfering of the honeycomb pattern reduces the risk of damage when removing the filter from the print bed. Additionally, a smaller lid was incorporated for faster printing times.
