Activated Carbon Filter

Activated Carbon Filter

This is a remix of Deltapie's “passive activated charcoal filter” (found here: https://www.printables.com/model/119879-passive-activated-charcoal-filter), but with a screw-on top to allow for the easy exchange of carbon. Construction is exactly the same as before, but I'll rehash it here:

For the base, I'd recommend rotating it to the smooth side as bottom, 20 to 30% infill, at least 3 to 4 layers for the top and bottom shells, and at least 3 wall layers.

For the support, print six supports vertically with 0% infill and no shell layers for the top and bottom. I printed with 3 wall layers, but that may be too rigid.

For the lattices, print six of them with the widest layer rotated to the bottom. Ensure that you have no layers for the top and bottom shells, at least 2 wall layers, and print with 30 to 50% infill (dependent on the carbon pellet size that you want to put in). I printed with 30% infill with a tri-hexagon pattern.

The screw-on top can be printed in place. I printed it with 20% infill, 3 layers for top and bottom, and 3 wall layers. I did not support the screws for the cap, and it required a bit of clean up. You might require supports. YMMV
