Action Cam LED Lamp and Torch
thingiverse
Good morning everyone! Here I'll be showing off my project, which I'm really proud of. I love the idea of sharing it with all of you, and I hope you'll enjoy it just as much as I do! My goal was to create something that's not only useful but also visually appealing. So, I came up with this object. It's a small box with a switch on top and a power LED on the front side. Essentially, it's a torch, but designed in the style of an action cam because I love its sleek design. The "torch" itself is incredibly compact and strong. After completing the first stage, I decided to add a feature that would allow it to stick almost anywhere. Fortunately, there's already a solution available that's quite easy to use - ball joints! So, I designed four balls on each of the two larger sides of this box. Using these ball joints, I created legs for the action cam, allowing it to stand upright in just about any position. However, I still felt like it wasn't quite enough, so I used a chain of ball joints from the project found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:584405. This project features some of the smallest and best ball joints I've ever printed. I also designed a ball joint with two balls and one with two holes - these can be really useful! With these, you can stick the action cam almost anywhere (check out the photos where I attached it to my bike - it worked perfectly!). The next step was to make an object that's not only useful but also visually appealing. So, I decided to play around with LEDs. I created some covers (they're not customizable on Customizer because I'm still learning OpenScad, but if you'd like to customize them, just let me know and I'll create and upload them as quickly as possible). I personally used the Wu-Tang logo because I'm a fan! There are three different kinds of covers: two open and one closed. Be sure to check out the photos to see the amazing effect it creates! You can use this object in so many ways - as an accessory for your next dark adventure, as a lamp, or even as a torch on your bike or somewhere else. The possibilities are endless! Let's find your own unique way of using it and share our amazing results! I hope you'll enjoy using it just as much as I did creating it.
