Acrylic Refraction Lamp
thingiverse
A lamp design that exploits the acrylic's light refraction properties to create a visually striking effect. You have two options: A: An enclosed acrylic design that showcases the transparent material's ability to refract light. B: The option to replace engraved acrylic with a new piece, allowing for customized designs and colors. This project is laser-cut from 3mm MDF and 5mm PMMA (acrylic) sheets. To assemble the lamp, you'll need a dual AAA battery case, a small on/off button, and three LEDs. Update: As of August 2019, new instructions are available, and all laser-cut files have been updated to DXF R12 ASCII format with 0.2mm kerf compensation. Kerf is the amount of material removed during the cutting process. To ensure a smooth assembly without glue, this kerf is compensated in the vector file itself. Enjoy your new lamp design!
