Acrylic cross-hair bracket for hobby laser
thingiverse
This bracket offers an affordable cross-hair guide upgrade for budget lasers, such as those from FSE, utilizing two inexpensive line lasers available at stores like DealExtreme for under $4 each. The design is based on Glenn Langton's posted on his blog (http://glennlangton.blogspot.com/2011/08/laser-cutter-cross-hair-guide-for-under.html). This updated version replaces Glenn's single modified spot laser with two new line lasers and discards the original aluminum bracket. To follow Glenn's instructions, you'll need to cut into the guide laser wiring. Assemble the pieces using acrylic welding solvent, and attach the lasers with zip-ties. The prototype used an alternate version without .091" cradle pieces, held together with zip-ties, which worked well but looked a bit cluttered. Gorilla duck tape covered most of the aperture for a fine line, and 2.5 mm screws with hex-heads were used. The design also includes a piece to eliminate nuts for easier installation. Enjoy!
