An acrylic nest inspired by ants Canada's large omni nest. Laser cut acrylic plates and connect the parts with 6mm bolts. The bolts should be at least 30mm if not longer. the first 3 files are .ai and contain all of the types of parts ready to laser cut. the next 3 are .stl and contain a cover to block light, a replacement 5mm part called "gate" used for the entrance and a structure for holding metal grids in place. The rest are the raw vector files for all of the individual parts, the thickness and the amount you have to cut in case you want those. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most of the parts are 3mm thick while some 5mm. If you don't have any 5mm plates you can use 4 or 6mm. Just remember to 3d print the part "gate" since it can't be any other size. The entrance is 10mm wide to fit transparent pvc tubes just like the original. The square compartments are for the humidifying sponges or cotton whatever you choose. It is recommended to place a small metal grid where the sponge connects to the nest to prevent the ants from digging out. If the metal grid slides away you can print the part called "grid holder" to keep it in place. I've included an extra piece with a hole for a drinking sponge if you want more of those directly inside the rooms. There is an adaptor for a 14mm test tube you can fill up with water to supply the colony for months. If this is too large you can also find the half size version under remixes.
