Acropolis Kore 678
thingiverse
Cosmo Wenman recreates a 3D scan of Kore 678, a 6th-century BC marble figure discovered in 1886 west of the Erechtheion in Athens. Described as "Pseudo-Ionic" due to its imperfect rendering of Ionic style clothing, Kore 678's close-fitting attire reveals an idealized female form beneath. Wenman's scan is part of his project "Through A Scanner, Skulpturhalle," and was captured using a FARO Edge Arm with V5 Laser Line Probe at 0.25mm line space with 0.035mm precision in September 2013. The recreated sculpture stands at 1015mm tall with 9 million triangles, and Wenman extends his gratitude to the Skulpturhalle Basel museum, FARO, Autodesk's Reality Capture division, and individuals who provided expertise and equipment for the project.
