Acropole sud d'Halaesa - Sicile

The Greek-Sicilian city was founded on the northern coast of Sicily, between Palermo and Messina, in 403 BC by Arconide of Herbita. It fell under Roman rule during the First Punic War in 263 BC and gained a privileged status while maintaining autonomy until the Augustan period when it acquired Roman citizenship. I conducted these photogrammetric surveys as part of a French mission led by Mr. Costanzi from Amiens University and V. Michel from Poitiers University. During my three trips to Sicily (2016, 2018, and 2019), I introduced students from Amiens University, Poitiers University, and the Louvre School to applied photogrammetry in archaeology through theoretical and practical courses on the mission's three sectors: the agora (https://skfb.ly/6NWMz), the acropolis, and the theater (https://skfb.ly/6OzoE).
