This sound absorption panel builds upon juliendorra's work found at https://github.com/juliendorra/3D-printable-sound-absorbers. I've modified the original design by removing the perforated face plate, reducing its size by 50% (since smaller holes are considered more effective), and combining multiple face plates, segmented backing modules, and a coiled air chamber into a single printable unit measuring 200mm x 200mm. The goal of this object is to eliminate wide-spectrum sound noise for a quieter environment and improve room acoustics by absorbing sound energy that hits the panel's surface. Key criteria include low cost and weight, which drove the development of this print's technical shapes and minimal filament usage. The perforated side of the panel faces the room. If you're interested in a diffuser instead of an absorber (they work well together), I've created a Quadratic Residue Diffuser at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3894262. One assembly requires approximately 50m of filament to print using a 0.4mm nozzle. This panel requires adjusting default slicer settings and is delicate before attaching to a firm surface. This project was one of my first in CAD and helped spark an interest in buying a printer, so I'm open to suggestions for improvement if community interest exists. In my unqualified opinion, this panel performs better than expected.
