Design Project for a Design Class: Acoustic Levitation System Fails Due to Transducer Issues The acoustic levitator project I worked on for a design class aimed to harness sound waves to suspend particles of Styrofoam, water, and potentially liquid metal in mid-air. Unfortunately, the experiment did not produce the desired outcome, but the apparatus itself was not at fault. The problem lay with the transducer used to generate the sound waves, which failed to effectively levitate the particles as intended.
