Acoustic Guitar Mute

Acoustic Guitar Mute

thingiverse

I created this acoustic guitar mute to fit perfectly over the hole of an acoustic nylon string guitar. It drastically reduces the sound coming out of the instrument. Ideal if you want to play your acoustic axe loudly without disturbing your housemates or neighbors. The F holes are modeled after real ones from a violin and will make you look like a sophisticated and cultured musician. Print Settings Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.08mm Infill: 20% Post-Printing Old beat-up violin finish with crackling effect, giving it an authentic look. Apart from the fake wood finish, I covered the back in 2mm black foam to better seal the hole and prevent scratches on your guitar's finish. To keep everything tightly in place, I embedded a strong neodymium magnet at the bottom of the outer rim of the mute. This magnet works with another larger neodymium magnet glued inside the guitar near the hole, allowing you to quickly place the device over the instrument's hole by simply holding it close. This feature is very handy when playing in low-light conditions. 2mm black foam & flat round neodymium magnet. How I Designed This This design was created entirely using Blender, except for the F holes, which were made on Illustrator and later exported as an SVG file. It may seem unconventional to use two different programs, but it worked well!
