Acoustic Diffusor, Basic
thingiverse
I stumbled upon this acoustic diffusor calculator online, and based on that, I developed a basic static model: http://www.mh-audio.nl/DiffusorCalculator3.asp My model features columns with a width of 1 cm and a maximum column length of 1 cm. This combination produces low frequencies at 17,200 Hz. Users can scale the model according to their needs by adjusting two key factors: - Z-scale factor = 17,200 / desired low frequency in Hz - X,Y scale factor = 17,200 / desired high frequency in Hz Alternatively, you can work backward and solve for the frequencies by plugging in the known scale factors into these equations: - Low frequency (Hz) = 17,200 / Z scale factor - High frequency (Hz) = 17,200 / X,Y scale factor Let's use this calculator to see how it works. Assume that your 3D printer has a maximum print height of 10 cm, giving you a minimum frequency of 1,720 Hz. Now suppose the smallest reliable square post size for a 10-cm tall print is 0.5 cm on each side; in that case, the highest possible frequency would be 34,400 Hz. Using these values as scale factors (10 for Z and 0.5 for X,Y) should make this easy to accomplish.
