ACORN TABLE LIGHT
prusaprinters
There are several options when it comes to using this model. As a single, lamp it's perfect as a highlight in a fruit bowl or table setting, or print as many as you like and string them through a line of LED fairy lights.I've used a simple led string light with 18 lights in this example (1.7m or just under 6' of wire) and they are perfect for bundling up into one ‘globe’.There are slots on each side of the “husk” to allow the entry of wires if required, but a little stand alone button light would work tucked inside just as well. The top is printed in PLA with a 0.4Nozzle and 0.3mm “DRAFT” mode, with fuzzy skin on the outside and a modifier to stop the slicer thinking that the bits inside the little slots are actually outside as well. No supports are necessary. I recommend downloading the 3mf file and modifying it to suit your printer. (Mine is Prusa MK3s)The nicest print for the Lantern “nut” part will come with a little patience - the one shown (and the attached 3mf file is printed with a 0.4nozzle in VASE mode, BUT in 0.15 (SPEED) mode. I have enlarged the hole at the end of the nut (top of the print) slightly since the photos were taken to give a cleaner finish.Once again the 3mf file should be set and ready to go should you wish. The finished acorn is about 50mm high not counting the stem, and I think that at a later time I'd love to make a string at about half that as I think they'd be perfect for the tiny little LED's. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow, or maybe you might like to just scale this one down on the slicer if you can't wait!
