The Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) is a key knee ligament that ensures stability and movement. Its injury, affecting over 200,000 annually, causes mobility problems and major life disruptions. Despite extensive research, no solution to prevent ACL tears has been found yet. Most injuries occur in agility sports like soccer, basketball, and football. Debates exist on whether athletes should quit sports entirely to avoid injuries, but this isn't feasible. To address this issue, I developed the AIPW or ACL Injury Prevention Wrap. This custom-made wrap is created using a 3D scanner/printer for each athlete and provides both support and protection. Made of cotton fibers with polymer-elastic strands, it offers flexibility and sturdiness to prevent ACL tears during sports. By wearing this wrap, athletes can maintain their range of motion while being protected from injuries that could end their careers. This innovative solution has the potential to revolutionize athletics by protecting athletes and enabling them to pursue their dreams without fearing ACL injuries.
