Surpassed only by the world-annihilating Kyreos dragons, Mavericks hold a dominant position among all beings as one of the largest and most fearsome creatures on the planet. Endowed with massive size and unimaginable strength, their scales and teeth are also as resilient as tempered steel. Their respiration consists of a noxious exhalation of poison and flames, their tails hide a potent venomous stinger and their blood is a deadly toxin, so even if an accomplished warrior might conquer the remainder of a Maverick's defenses, they will not live to savor their triumph, for they will already be doomed by the Maverick's lethal blood. The Mavericks are vestiges of a primeval Pandemonium, an embodiment of Nature's unconquerable ferocity or the wild, instinctual impulses that virtuous civilizations strive to dominate. Mavericks are renowned for hoarding vast riches within their caverns and guarding them zealously. Even if a single copper coin disappears from its treasure trove, a Maverick will discern it, and unleash unfathomable destruction upon nearby settlements until its ire is satiated. Some Mavericks' avarice for beauty extends to human loveliness as well, and they will kidnap the most beautiful of maidens for their collection.
