My primary creative area revolves around creating decorative coasters for some reason, so I'm starting to upload more of these as well Let's be realistic here; what isn't there to love about AC/DC? They possess that fantastic Aussie-Georgie fusion going on, they still retain the same energy after almost five decades of performing live, they compose excellent feel-good rock songs and play them loudly and proudly... and then there's Angus. May look somewhat erratic (somewhat?) and bounce around the stage as if being electrocuted but I challenge ANYONE to name a guitarist who has written more catchy rock riffs than Angus Young. And for all those who snub and say 'it's all just four-chord stuff', why don't you simply attempt playing the riff to Thunderstruck while headbanging...? If you haven't heard any AC/DC (where have you been for the last almost five decades??) I wholeheartedly recommend getting a hold of some of their material and giving it a serious listen. And please, do give ear to something else OTHER than 'Highway to Hell' or 'Whole Lotta Rosie'. They're excellent songs, don't get me wrong, but every covers band I've ever been part of has done one or both and.... sorry, but AC/DC have composed more (and better) songs than those two. 'Back in Black', 'Moneytalks', 'You Shook Me All Night Long', 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap', 'Sin City'....... Take your pick. It is my fervent hope that featuring 'Shoot to Thrill' as Tony Stark's anthem in the Marvel Comics movies will introduce a whole new generation to discover just how excellent these 'old' bands can sound! They've had it quite tough over the last few years, what with the passing of Malcolm Young (the rhythm guitarist and brother of Angus), and Brian Johnson, the lead singer (himself the replacement for the late great Bon Scott, who passed away in 1980) quitting due to declining health. But as long as there's real rock around, the spirit of AC/DC will prevail. For those about to rock, we salute you.
