When the mighty giant king Thiazi snatched Idunn and her sacred Apples of Immortality from Asgard, the gods' wrath was swift. Thor shattered Thiazi's skull with a crushing blow from Mjolnir, as the giant transformed into a great eagle in mid-air, sending both eyes flying from their sockets. Thiazi now wanders blindly through the mist-shrouded city of Helheim, though Odin granted his daughter Skadi a gift: he cast the giant's eyes into the heavens where they shine as twin stars, watching all that unfolds when the sun sets on the Nine Worlds.
