Accurate Tide Pod and Jello/Food Mold

This is an accurate representation of a Tide Pod designed to be printed in two pieces and then glued together and painted. It's still a work in progress, with ongoing prototyping, so no guarantees on this model. Also included is a mold made from my original design, which I plan to use for making Jello molds. The mold uses 1/4-20 bolts to hold it together. If you're interested in the Autodesk Inventor Files, feel free to contact me. ***EDIT FEB 8th, 2018*** Two additional part files have been added: one_swirl.stl and Pod_Top_No_Swirl.stl. These provide individual pieces that match the original sizes. ***EDIT Feb 11th, 2018*** After molding gelatin in the mold, I've revised the design to improve its performance. New mold pieces with the suffix -rev2 have been uploaded, replacing the original molds to avoid confusion. To make gelatin molded tide pods: 1. Print the molds using food-safe PLA material. I used a .13125 layer height, 5 bottom layers, 5 top layers, and 5 perimeter lines with 20% infill for watertight results. 2. Sand down the mating surfaces of the molds to ensure they are flat. 3. Wash the molds thoroughly and dry them completely. 4. Apply cooking spray to prevent gelatin from sticking to the mold. 5. Assemble the molds together using rubber bands, but consider switching to bolts in the future. 6. Fill the mold using a syringe to avoid spills. 7. When mixing Jell-O, use only 3/4 cup of water for each step to achieve a tougher gelatin mix. 8. Refrigerate overnight for optimal results. 9. Carefully disassemble the mold, and if everything goes well, the tide pod should come out easily into your hand. 10. Enjoy your homemade gelatin Tide Pod!
