Accuracy Block

I am uploading this extremely useful yet surprisingly simple object due to numerous requests from users. This accuracy block is used in conjunction with the calibration pieces found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1037301. It is essential to determine the dimensional stability and accuracy of a calibrated filament by printing this block using the same settings as before. The dimensions of 0.5" x 1.0" x 2.0" are crucial, and while being spot on is always ideal, the main goal is to ensure that dimensional variance in any direction adds up consistently. For instance, a variance of .001 in the half inch direction should show up as a .002 in the 1" direction and .004 in the 2" direction. These values should be proportional for a good filament, and if they are within .0005", then it is considered good enough. See the pictures to understand better. The STL file is Cura scaled and oriented for easy printing. By using this combination of calibration and accuracy objects, I have been able to avoid using bad filament that would under extrude on the calibration block and over extrude on the accuracy object. This also helps me identify my top filaments for tight tolerance multi-part prints. Here are the print settings used: Printer: Rigidbot 2; Rafts: No; Supports: No; Resolution: 0.1 mm; Infill: 23 - 25%; Notes: Orient the object to be aligned with the X or Y axis, and use the same print settings as determined for the calibration pieces to ensure a perfect fit.
