Accessory handlebar adapter for aerobars
prusaprinters
This is designed to attach a second, dummy handlebar to aerobars. Aerobars usually take up all the space on the main handlebars, leaving no room for lights, a Garmin mount, etc. It bridges the gap between the skis like so: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/fzLn_ayGTPk/maxresdefault.jpg but is more secure. I made this for use with a Profile Design T3 set of aerobars, to mate to a standard 31.8 mm dummy handlebar. I use the dummy handlebar that came with the Profile Design set. I haven't installed it yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. If it doesn't, I'll update this. STL & SLDPRT are provided for your convenience. Printed successfully with Lulzbot Mini with 3.0 mm PLA, using Cura. Assembly & Materials 0.2" wide zipties. If have a hard time understanding the purpose of this, see here: http://cdn.bikepacking.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/lael-wilcox-trans-am-race-55.jpg Notice the accessory handlebar attached to the aerobars perpendicularly. It looks like she drilled holes in the dummy handlebar to prevent rotation, but I imagine it still swings. Tracks for zipties are provided for ease of installation. You might have luck with adding inner tube shims to increase friction. With weightier objects like lights, they may rotate & eventually end up at the bottom once you run over enough bumps. I designed this around some fairly standard zipties, with about 0.20" width. Credit: Bikepacking.com Updates ======= 26 Jan 17: added a picture with what I had to do before. It kept rotating forward with a light mounted every time I hit a bump. Don't recommend. Category: Sport & Outdoors
