<p>The <a href="http://www.compatiblepneumatics.com/nr_322_pvl526-24vdc-1-8-manifold-base-6-station-1-piece_PV0213250001">PVL5211/PVL526</a> manifold can be used to actuate pneumatic robotics such as the Sunram 7. A single manifold base houses up to eight valves, but the Sunram 7 needs twelve. So two manifold bases are needed and these can be effectively joined using the accessoires provided.</p><p>To join two manifold bases together a seal is needed, a DXF file is provided to laser-cut it from 1 mm silicone rubber. You can also use a suitable sealant, such as blue silicone.</p><p>3d print the connection units: three with M3 thread (create proper threads using a M3 tap if necessary) and three with 3mm through hole (use 3mm drill if necessary for proper hole size). Place screws (M3 x 18 mm or longer) in the 3mm holes and screw the connection units in the manifold bases as pictured, by hand or using a large flat screw. The notches prevent unscrewing the connection units when pairs mesh together; make sure that enough room is left.</p><p>Tighten the three M3 screws to make a good airtight connection between the manifolds. The connection units have internal airways to allow for some airflow between the manifolds, although you can also supply pressured air from both sides just to be sure.</p><p>Feet: use two M4 x 25mm screws per foot and mount as pictured. Do not worry about the screw heads being not perfectly flush to the base.</p><p>Tube organizer: clip in 4mm tubes to your application, in this case a pneumatic connection block (to be published seperately later). The tubes can be cut at the desired length. When all tubes are cut then these can be transferred to the valves of the pneumatic manifold itself.</p>
