Accelerometer mount for bicycle

thingiverse

This mounting bracket attaches a SparkFun three-axis accelerometer (SEN00252) to a bicycle for a larger project mapping city bike path roughness. By rapidly sampling bike frame acceleration from bumps over a few seconds and tagging data with GPS information, the peak accelerations are written to a memory card. Processing software then generates color-coded blobs representing roughness along the route on a map, providing information on which paths need repair. An Arduino with a GPS logger shield captures positional data, while the selected accelerometer breakout board measures up to 6g three-axis acceleration; only a sturdy bracket is needed for mounting.
