Accelerometer Calibration Fixture for WIMUv3
thingiverse
This OpenSCAD script creates a 3D model for printing a WIMU holder, designed for calibration of a packaged WIMUv3's accelerometers on a calibration turntable. The current version is 2.0, dated August 23, 2011. Future improvements include adding mouse-ears and reinforcing the structure with support walls and a more complete base. Originally designed in AutoCAD as version 1.0, the latest version has been reimagined in OpenSCAD for better customization. Notable changes include the addition of a cutout for fingers to help remove the item after use, an increased internal hole size for Tyndall printed WIMUv3 packaging, and compatibility with a 25mm mote-based cube WIMUv3 system. To use this holder, first build a turntable and set up the 25mm mote-based cube WIMUv3 system (don't forget to write device firmware, motor control code, and PC-based calibration code). Next, print the fixture and bolt it securely to your turntable. Finally, insert a packaged WIMUv3 containing an uncalibrated accelerometer and proceed with the calibration process.
