Academy Sports Canopy Leg Replacement Pin
thingiverse
My version of Academy Sports' replacement pin for canopy legs. If you break one, you'll know what I'm talking about. To repair your canopy legs, do the following:Print the replacement pin (I recommend printing in petg or abs). Print it horizontally on the build plate at 100% infill.Use a flat head screwdriver to pry up the top plastic plate over the broken leg corner. This is the plastic covering on the corner housing where the frame connects. This plate actually is used to secure the pins in place. If you don't pry this up and temporarily remove it, it will be impossible to get the replacement pin into place.Put the replacement pin into the leg and secure the leg into the corner assembly.Return the black top plastic plate, making sure to get the long, vertical plastic legs into proper alignment with holes.I should have looked for the stl file when mine broke, but I reinvented the wheel and made my own. I figured out that the corner plastic cover plate had to be removed after realizing the pin wouldn't ever go in unless the top cap is removed. Again, an internet search might have saved me the trouble. This design worked great for me in petg, and the canopy lives to fight another day.
