Fragment of a Cross. During archaeological excavations by the State Hermitage expedition to study cult architecture in the village of Starie Smolegovtsy, a cult complex was discovered that included stone crosses up to 2.8 meters long and a chapel-golbets with two broken stone crosses embedded in its foundation. The finds include numerous fragments of broken stone crosses, XIX-early XX century coins, lamp fragments, medieval and modern ceramics, and more. Dating the fragment: XIV-XVI centuries. Possible size: 0.5-0.7 meters long, 0.1 meter thick. Material: Dolomite. Location found: Village of Starie Smolegovtsy, Volsky District, Leningrad Region. Storage location: State Hermitage, RHC "Old Village", Warehouse Sector of Architectural Archaeology.
