Abstract Desk Lamp

Abstract Desk Lamp

Hello Everyone! I created this desk lamp for my girlfriend as a Christmas gift. It took around 12 hours to design on Autodesk Inventor. The entire lamp is made from white PLA, which I printed in 9 separate pieces and then bonded together using Loctite 401. To complete the lamp, I purchased an affordable lightbulb socket from Amazon and designed the head to its precise dimensions. Next, I threaded a wire through the lamp all the way down to the base. Her name is engraved on the bottle neck. If anyone would like me to share the STL file for the bottleneck without the name, please let me know; it won't be an issue. When properly positioned in your slicing software, none of the parts require support. However, the smaller pieces will need at least a brim, and I recommend using a raft for added stability. After printing all the components, I sanded them with 80 grit sandpaper before gradually moving up to 240. Initially, I planned to apply a gloss clear coat, but I ended up preferring the matte finish instead. The glue proved to be more expensive than I anticipated, but the small bottle is durable and provides strong bonding for PLA. Below are links to Amazon for the glue and light socket: Glue: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000132VIK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Socket: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016MDPWL0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Unfortunately, I forgot to capture photos of each individual piece before assembling the lamp. Please feel free to message me with any comments or questions. I hope you like it! Best regards, Christian
