Here in Chile, obtaining ABS plastic at a reasonable cost is nearly impossible due to outrageous shipping and taxation fees. I calculate that each kilogram of this material costs over $100 USD or more. Given the inflated prices, I have chosen to design a highly affordable 3D extruder machine. With materials readily available, such as low-cost drill bits, tubing, and heat guns, anyone should be able to build this machine themselves. The model is currently under development, with several prototype tests being conducted, though changes are anticipated based on ongoing evaluations. One key component - a peltier cell necessary for cooling the system - recently arrived damaged, delaying the project's progress by an additional month until a new unit can be sourced.
