In my country, ABS filament is expensive due to high shipping costs and taxes, costing approximately $100 USD per kilogram. To combat this, I have devised a plan to create a low-cost extruder machine that anyone can assemble. This machine will allow users to produce filament from ABS pellets, which can be obtained for just $2-$3 USD per kilogram in my country. Currently, I am conducting concept tests with a heat gun and using a large drill bit and tube; however, the design may change as I await a replacement Peltier cell after mine arrived damaged.
