Abraham Lincoln was captured by Leonard Wells Volk, a renowned sculptor born in 1828 and passing away in 1895. The sitter, Abraham Lincoln, lived from February 12, 1809, until April 15, 1865. This sculpture was created using plaster and comes in two dimensions: the proper left side measures 7.6 x 11.1 x 17.8 cm (3 x 4 3/8 x 7 inches), while the proper right side measures 8.9 x 12.7 x 15.2 cm (3 1/2 x 5 x 6 inches). The type of sculpture is well-defined as a three-dimensional artwork, and it was cast around 1917 after the original piece from 1860. This remarkable sculpture can be found at the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, which received it through transfer from the National Museum of American History. The object number assigned to this sculpture is S/NPG.71.6. EDAN-URL: edanmdm:npg_S_NPG.71.6
